MORELIA,
Michoacán El robo de un lote de joyas y de más
de tres millones de pesos habría desencadenado
en el asesinato, el pasado 2 de diciembre, de Sergio
Gómez, vocalista del grupo K-Paz de la Sierra.
Así lo revela una de las líneas de investigación
que sigue la Procuraduría de Justicia del Estado,
tras seis meses de ocurrido el crimen.
Dentro de la averiguación se refiere que las
joyas y el dinero fueron robados un año antes
del domicilio que el cantante tenía en el Fraccionamiento
Terranova, en el Municipio de Tarímbaro, cercano
a Morelia.
El hurto fue cometido previo a una presentación
del grupo musical en la ciudad de Uruapan.
“A Sergio le avisaron sus propios vecinos que
varios hombres se estaban metiendo a su casa. Eran hombres
vestidos como policías. Se llevaron joyas valuadas
en más de un millón de pesos y dinero
en efectivo”, confirmó una fuente cercana
a la investigación, quien pidió el anonimato.
Añadió que hay otras dos hipótesis
sobre la muerte del artista, ligadas al robo de joyas
y dinero. La primera indica que los bienes pertenecían
a un presunto delincuente, quien en venganza mandó
asesinar al cantante.
La segunda, señala que Gómez fue amenazado
de muerte por ratificar su denuncia penal contra quien
resulte responsable ante la Subprocuraduría de
Justicia en esta ciudad. Le advirtieron que no se presentara
a cantar en Morelia, pero no hizo caso.
Un guardia de seguridad privada que vio a los asaltantes,
fue reportado desaparecido al día siguiente.
Desde entonces, nada se sabe de él.
Según las declaraciones ministeriales, Gómez
viajaba en una camioneta luego de una presentación
en la capital michoacana. Pretendía llegar a
Puerto Vallarta, donde el grupo tenía otro compromiso.
Su cuerpo quedó tirado a un costado del camino
Morelia-Chiquimitío, en la misma área
donde fue “levantado”. Tenía señas
de tortura, debido a quemaduras en sus genitales, aunque
la causa de su muerte fue el estrangulamiento.
Los estudios forenses revelaron que el artista sufrió
la quemadura del glande, producida probablemente con
un soplete.
Hasta el lunes, las autoridades habían tomado
ya 50 declaraciones, incluidas las de los integrantes
del grupo, coristas y trabajadores, así como
de dos agentes de la Policía Federal Preventiva
que atendieron el primer llamado de auxilio.

The
theft of jewelry and more than three million
pesos may have led to the assassination
of Sergio Gomez, singer of the group K-Paz
de la Sierra, last December 2.
That is what a report reveals by the state
of Michoacan’s district attorney,
six months after the crime occurred.
According to the investigation, the jewelry
and the money were stolen one year before,
from the singer’s home in the Fraccionamiento
Terranova, in the Municipio de Tarímbaro,
close to Morelia.
The theft was committed before a concert
by the group in the city of Uruapan.
“His own neighbors advised Sergio
that various men were entering his house.
They were men dressed as policemen. They
took jewelry valued at more than one million
pesos and cash,” confirmed a source
close to the investigation who wished
to remain anonymous.
The source added that there are two other
theories regarding the artist’s
death, both linked to the theft of the
jewelry and money. The first indicates
that the goods belonged to an alleged
criminal, who out of vengeance ordered
the murder of the singer.
The second theory indicates that Gomez
was threatened with death for ratifying
the criminal report filed with Morelia’s
deputy district attorney against the person
who may have been responsible for his
death. They warned him to not perform
in Morelia, but he did not pay attention.
A private security guard, who saw the
assailants, was reported missing the next
day. Nothing has been heard from him since.
According to ministerial declarations,
Gomez was traveling in a truck after a
performance in Michoacan’s capital.
He was expected to arrive in Puerto Vallarta,
where the group had an engagement.
His body was found thrown alongside the
Morelia-Chiquimitío highway, in
the same area where he was “picked
up.” There were signs of torture,
attributed to burns on his genitals, although
the cause of his death was strangulation.
The forensic studies revealed that the
artist suffered burns on his genitals,
probably produced by a blowtorch.
As of Monday, authorities had taken 50
declarations, including those of members
of the group, back-up singers and workers,
as well as agents of the Federal Preventive
Police, who first arrived on the scene.
