Babasonicos les da ‘Mucho’
a sus fans

La
banda de rock alternativa, Babasonicos, lanzó
su cuarto disco, y el primero en mas de dos
años, titulado "Mucho".

its fourth album and the first in more than
two years titled "Mucho."

05/23/08. Han pasado más
de dos años desde que Babasonicos lanzara su
último disco, ahora la banda regresa con su último
disco inédito “Mucho.”
Este es el cuarto disco para esta banda de rock alternativo
que hizo historia por vender más de 20,000 unidades
digitales un mes antes de que se lanzara el CD.
“El disco es muy equilibrado y yo creo que va
a defender esa expectativa de la gente”, dijo
el vocalista Adrián Dárgelos en una entrevista
telefónica con Expresso.
El primer sencillo del disco “Pijamas” es
la canción número dos en los Estados Unidos
en la categoría de rock alternativo y está
en la posición número uno en Argentina.
“Esperamos que le guste el disco a los fans en
los Estados Unidos”, dijo Dárgelos.
Pero el éxito de “Mucho” es agridulce
porque es el primer lanzamiento desde la muerte del
bajista Gabo Mannelli en enero de este año.
Babasonicos empezó su gira que los llevará
por México, Latinoamérica, Europa y los
Estados Unidos. La banda se presentará en el
El Rey Theatre en Los Ángeles el martes.
“En esta gira esperamos siempre estar un paso
más adelante”, dijo Dárgelos.
Dárgelos añade que los fans pueden esperar
ver “puro delirio y puro rock and roll”.
La banda planea regresar al estudio para trabajar en
su próximo álbum cuando la gira llegue
a su conclusión.
Después de una trayectoria de 18 años,
Dárgelos dijo que la única cosa que queda
para Babasonicos es “cumplir nuestra próxima
fantasía, pero no lo sabemos. La fantasía
actual es ‘Mucho’”.
Aunque la banda ha ganado mucho éxito en Latinoamérica
incluso su natal Argentina, Dárgelos dijo que
a él y a la banda les gustaría tener mucho
éxito en los Estados Unidos pero no es una prioridad
de la banda.

Babasonicos gives ‘Mucho’

has been more than two years since Babasonicos
released its last album, now the band
returns with its latest studio album “Mucho.”
The fourth album for this alternative
rock band made history by selling more
than 20,000 digital units a month before
the CD was released.
“The album is very well-balanced
and I think it will defend the expectations
people had of the album,” said vocalist
Adrian Dargelos in a phone interview.
The first single off the album “Pijamas”
is number two in the United States on
the Alternative Rock charts and is number
one in Argentina.
“We hope that the fans in the United
States will like the album,” said
Dargelos.
But the success of “Mucho”
is bittersweet since this is the first
album released since the death of bassist
Gabo Mannelli in January.
Babasonicos just began their tour that
will take them through Mexico, Latin America,
Europe and the U.S. The band will perform
at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on
Tuesday.
“We hope to be one step ahead, as
always, during this tour,” said
Dargelos.
Dargelos added that fans can expect to
see “pure delirium and pure rock
and roll.”
The band plans on returning to the studio
to work on another album when the tour
concludes.
After an 18-year-long career Dargelos
said the only thing left for Babasonicos
is to “complete our next fantasy,
but we don’t know what it is yet.
Our current fantasy is ‘Mucho’.”
Although the band has earned much success
in Latin America including its native
Argentina, Dargelos said he and the band
would like to have great success in the
U.S. but it isn’t a priority.
