Aleks Syntek confía en que la cantante australiana
Kylie Minogue se convertirá en la persona que
le abrirá puertas en algunos países de
Europa y Australia, como lo hizo previamente Ana Torroja
en España.
El músico mexicano grabó con Minogue una
adaptación en español del tema “In
My Arms”, a incluirse tanto en la edición
para Latinoamérica del disco nuevo de la australiana,
titulado “X”, como en una recopilación
que se hará de Syntek.
“Me encantaría decir que ella me vio pasar
y dijo ‘!uy que guapo está!’ y me
invitó a cantar, pero no, sería un ‘choro’
(mentira)”, bromeó el cantautor en una
rueda de prensa posterior a su participación
en “El concierto por los niños” de
la Fundación ALAS al explicar cómo surgió
el proyecto.
Pero la verdad es que el junte surgió gracias
a que ambos pertenecen a la misma compañía
discográfica, EMI Music, que quería darle
un mayor empuje a la carrera de Minogue en esta parte
del mundo.
Syntek grabó por separado su interpretación
y sólo habló con su contraparte femenina
por teléfono y correo electrónico.
Uno de los aspectos de la colaboración que más
le llamó la atención a Syntek fue la posibilidad
de expandir su contenido en nuevos mercados.
Se espera que durante la gira de Minogue por América
Latina ambos interpreten juntos el tema.
El creador de éxitos como “Sexo, pudor
y lágrimas”, “Intocable” e
“Historias de danzón y de arrabal”
recordó que en 2009 cumplirá 20 años
de trayectoria musical, por lo que planea lanzar una
compilación de éxitos.

Syntek confides that the Australian singer
Kylie Minogue will become the person who
could open doors for him in some European
countries and Australia, like what Ana
Torroja had done in Spain before for Syntek.
The Mexican musician recorded a Spanish
version of the song “In My Arms”
with Minogue, which would be included
in the Latin American version of the Australians
new album “X,” or in a compilation
CD that Syntek will make.
“I would love to say that she saw
me pass by and though ‘wow, hes
so handsome!’ and she in turn invited
me to sing with her, but no, that would
be a lie,” he joked during a round
table interview after the “El concierto
por los niños” by the ALAS
foundation, where he explained how the
project came about.
But the truth is that the project arose
thanks to the fact that both belong to
the same record label, EMI Music, who
wanted to give a major push to Minogue’s
career in this part of the country.
Syntek recorded the track separately and
he only communicated with his female counterpart
by telephone and email.
One of the reasons the collaboration called
Syntek’s attention was the possibility
to expand his content into new markets.
Hopefully the two singers will perform
the song together during Minogue’s
Latin American leg of her tour.
The creator of hits like “Sexo,
pudor y lágrimas,” “Intocable”
and “Historias de danzón
y de arrabal” recalled that he will
celebrate a 20-year-long career in 2009,
for which he plans on releasing a greatest
hits album.
